Shows dark blue steel span bridge over pale blue water connecting low green mountains on right to higher green forested mountains on left. At sky line over mountains on left is large (1.625 inch diameter) yellow sun with narrow yellow halo (6.25 inch diameter) that has two smaller (.625 inch diameter) yellow sun images at 0" and 90". In immediate foreground, fen brown weeds and grasses grow out of brown rocky ground area. Colors are pale. Painting is 'float' mounted on white mat. Single brown mat; mottled silver and brown finished wood frame with glass. Property #04573.
Inscription: "Pat Holley Bergander 1979" in brown paint at center lower edge.
Notes:
Acquired by Juneau Centennial Committee. Painting shows old Douglas Bridge which was built in early 1930's for $250,000. It was replaced in early 1980's. Sundogs appears in sky when ice crystal in high cirrus clouds concentrate reflections at sun into circles and spheres around sun.
