Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency" and front logo for Perfect Photo, Inc.). The frame is labeled "Plateau Glacier in Glacier Bay 8—18—68" in handwriting. The image shows a swath of water, deep blue in color, part of the Wachusett Inlet off Glacier Bay. The water occupies the foreground and stretches to the middling area where it abruptly meets a sheet of glacial ice, presumably the Plateau Glacier. The surface of the glacier is mostly flat, with dark scarring over is blue—white coloring. There are peaks above it at center and right. In the foreground at extreme left, the detail of a boat is visible. The number "11" is printed in ink on the frame at the lower right, and the text "AUG68" is etched on the lower edge, possibly signifying the date of development.
