Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency" and front logo for Perfect Photo, Inc.). The frame is labeled "8—11—68 Democratic Picnic Douglas Beach" in handwriting. The image shows a diagonal view of a sandy beach with two structures set into the rear side of it near the tree line. At left, the structure is long and appears to be made of wood, with a sloped shingled roof and a chimney at center. At extreme right, there is another probably similar structure, but it is mostly obscured by the edge of the frame. A tall tree with thin growth stands between them. In the background, a hill slopes upward above the beach, onto whic a number of houses are built. On the beach and near the structures, a number of people are milling around and interacting with each other. The number "16" is printed in ink on the frame at the lower right, and the text "AUG68" is etched on the lower edge, possibly signifying the date of development.
