Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency" and front logo for Perfect Photo, Inc.). The frame is labeled "Democratic Picnic Douglas Beach 8—11—68" in handwriting. The image shows an eastward looking view of mainland Juneau captured at an upward angle from the beach in Douglas. Most of the frame is occupied by a mountain south of downtown, under which a number of structures stand on an outcropping. All that is visible of the near shore is part of a jungle gym at left, and a few people's heads at right. The number "17" is printed in ink on the frame at the lower right, and the text "AUG68" is etched on the lower edge, possibly signifying the date of development.
