Description:
Set of seven (7) sample postcards from box (2014.11.034 A—B) used at Paul Bloedhorn's jewelry shop. These seven postcards feature photographs from around Alaska.

A: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a line of men waking up a snow covered mountain pass. There is also a group of men along the lower edge. Text near the lower proper left corner reads: "Packers Ascending Summit of Chilkoot Pass". In the upper proper right corner there is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A165" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".

B: Black and white vertical postcard. Front has a photograph of a totem pole standing near an unfinished building. Trees in background surround the pole and building. In the upper proper right is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "T2" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".
C: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a group of nine (9) seagulls standing on an anchor line of a ship. The ship's bow is seen on the proper left. Mountains and water in the background to the proper right. Black text at center along the lower edge reads: " FIRST CALL FOR \ DINNER ——— \ IN ALASKAN WATERS". In the upper proper right corner is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A80" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". The number "80" is handwritten in pencil in the upper proper right corner.

D: Black and white vertical postcard. Front has a photograph of a bear (black bear?) sitting on top of a tree stump. Trees along lower edge. Along the lower edge is white text reading: "Seward Ala C. Emswiler". In the upper proper left corner is purple text stamped vertically on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A16" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". The number "16" is handwritten in pencil in the upper proper right corner.

E: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a group of six (6) bears on an ice covered shore line. Black text near the lower proper right corner reads: "Polar Bears — Alaska". In the upper proper right corner there is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". F: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a group of people silhouetted against a landscape. Water and mountains in background. At least 10 figures can be seen. Along the lower edge white text reads: "The Midnight Sun. Alaska.". Near the upper proper left corner there is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A73" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". G: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a glacier between two mountains. Photograph was taken from on the glacier as jagged ice fills the foreground and middleground. In the lower proper right corner is an illustration of a scroll with text reading: "LIVE GLACIER \ ALASKA". At center along the lower edge is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE".
