Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "July 4 1957" in handwriting. The image shows a slightly diagonal view of First Street, looking toward Franklin Street on the parade route. The 20th Century Gross Building features prominently at left. The Filipino Community float, decorated richly in white, yellow, red, and green floral arrangements, is turning onto Seward Street from First Street. The float bears a tall square canopy on its rear, under which a woman in a gown sits. Other women in gowns sit in front of her atop the float. Behind the float, a man in a chilkat robe walks along First Street. The number "10" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
