Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Queen Coralie Sheldon July 4 1957" in handwriting. The image shows a slightly diagonal view of the intersection of Seward and First Streets, looking toward Franklin Street on the parade route. The 20th Century Gross Building features prominently at left. A float pulled by a yellow truck cab draped in blue textile is turning onto Seward Street. The float itself is a flatbed covered in faux floral arrangements of blue and yellow, with lateral text reading "Queen 1957" on the right. On a raised platform at the rear, a woman in a gown and dark cape with gold trim sits upon a throne. Below her sit a number of other women in colorful gowns. The number "9" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
