A: Black and white photographic print of a circular buoy next to the hull of a ship. Based on the curvature of the hull, buoy is located at the bow of the boat. Chain and rope extend from the top of the image down into the water next to the buoy. Buoy appears to have barnacles and other such sealife attached to its lower section. Landscape is seen in the background to the proper right behind the ship's hull. Image has a white boarder around all four sides.There is a circular stamp located on the back of the image with text reading: "PASSED BY US BASE 1733 ARMY EXAMINER".

In the lower proper right corner there is a man's hand on a railing. Landscape is seen in the background to the proper left of the image behind the buoy. Image has a white boarder around all four sides.There is a circular stamp located on the back of the image with text reading: "PASSED BY US BASE 1733 ARMY EXAMINER". The majority of the stamp is covered by a section of black paper and tape where the photograph was once attached to an album page. There is a second section of black paper and tape along the lower edge.

Notes:
The US AFF P—510 was an emergency rescue boat in the Aleutians during WWII. 11th Air Force bombed Kiril Islands of Northern Japan in 1943—1945. The 10th Emergency Rescue Boat was assigned to them to recover air crews ditched at sea. The P—510 was built in 1944 by Fellows and Stuart in Wilmington, California with two 1500 HP Packard Engines. It was 85 feet long. Its official description was an Offshore Rescue Boat stationed at Attu.
