A — Black paper album page with two holes proper right side. Four photos affixed to front; four photos affixed to back. Caption printed in white ink across front of page reads "night Shift 8p.m. — 2 a.m." Captions printed in white ink on back of page beside photos to which they refer. "Paul" printed in white ink, lower proper right corner of front, next to number "9" handwritten in pencil.

B — Photograph (4.25 by 3 inches), five men in coats, pants, boots, hats, and gloves standing in a semicircle facing camera. Man at proper left end and second man from proper right end hold shovels. Exterior wall of a building visible behind them on proper left side of photo. The men, the wall, and the rock fill on which they are standing are illuminated; the background is in darkness. Man in center is Sam Hopkins

C — Photograph (4.25 by 3 inches), Civilian Conservation Corps truck 95 facing proper right with one man in cab looking out window toward three men standing beside truck. Same men as in B; again, foreground is illuminated while background is dark. Man at proper left edge is Sam Hopkins.

D — Photograph (4.25 by 3 inches), back end of dump truck on proper right side of photo, two men on proper left side. Man in foreground turns head to face camera; man in background is turned away from photographer and holds a shovel. As in B and C, foreground is illuminated while background is dark.

E — Photograph (4.25 by 3 inches), back end of dump truck with rocks pouring out of tipped bed and a dust cloud rising from ground behind truck. Man in dark coat and light—colored pants stands at proper left edge of photo, holding shovel and watching truck. As in previous photos, foreground is illuminated while background is dark.

F — Photograph (4 by 2.75 inches), tidewater flats clearing with street and boardwalk in foreground, at bottom edge of photo, and five buildings on pilings in background, at top and proper left edges of photo. Clearing slopes downward from proper right edge to center of image; sawed—off pilings and other debris visible in center. Caption below photo reads " "The tide brought more stuff in than it carried out" ".

G — Photograph (4.75 by 3.5 inches), three men in hats standing in rock fill clearing in front of a house, facing camera. Two men on proper right hold shovels; man on proper left stands with hands in pockets. House has two windows and one door, all with white trim. Dark car visible parked to proper right of building. Men's shadows extend behind them toward upper proper right corner. Caption below photo reads "Indian CCC Enrollees".

H — Photograph (4.75 by 3.5 inches), front and proper left of ANB Hall, taken from across Willoughby Avenue and partially obscured by other buildings. Corner of building in foreground visible along proper right edge of photo. Platform on pilings connects this building with several smaller ones that sit alongside Willoughby Avenue. More buildings visible in background in upper proper left quadrant. Caption to proper right of photo reads "Garage Rent $1 monthly". ANB Hall labeled in another caption above photo.

I — Photograph (4.25 by 3 inches), view down Willoughby Avenue looking west. Machinery and white house with dark roof visible on proper right side of street. Several houses and a flat—roofed rectangular building visible on proper left side. Douglas mountains in background. Several cars on street. Section of ground closest to photographer is in shadow; sunlight beyond that. Caption below photo reads "An arterial cuts the Indian's' [sic] tideflats".
Notes:
Sam Hopkins was the husband of Marie Olson's grandmother on her father's side. But not her father's dad. Sun Hopkins was the father of Emma Olsen, who married Oscar Olsen.

Marie Olson also said that garages rented for $1 a month and it was not unusual that people would live in them.
