Folded panoramic black and white photograph of Treadwell Mine looking from Douglas Island across Gastineau Channel to Mount Roberts. Juneau, Douglas, Thane and Mayflower Island can be seen in the distance. Various mine buildings along waterfront, mills, headframes and Superintendent's House.

The top two images are among the few references to the Treadwell Mines seen in the album. At that time, the Treadwell mining group was the most powerful mining company in the world , but that did not prevent the aggressive Bart Thane from attempting a hostile takeover in 1915. He failed, but the cave—in at Treadwell in 1917 sealed the fate of the mines across the channel.
