Panoramic Images 006 007
The top two images are among the few references to the Treadwell Mines seen in the album. At that time, the Treadwell mining group was the most powerful mining company in the world , but that did not prevent the aggressive Bart Thane from attempting a hostile takeover in 1915. He failed, but the cave—in at Treadwell in 1917 sealed the fate of the mines across the channel.
