A is album page. B—D are affixed to front of page, E—F are affixed to back of page. All photos approximately 3.5" x 5.5" with white border unless otherwise noted.

A — Album page, 7" x 11.25" manilla paper , with handwritten captions on front and back.

B — Black and white borderless image of Mendenhall Glacier region. Shrubs and trees fill lower proper left corner of photo, dirt road crosses photo diagonally from lower proper right corner toward upper proper left edge with trees behind. Glacier with surrounding mountains in background; sky fills most of upper proper right quadrant.

C — Dried flower in plastic wrapping. Top of flower made up of brown/white silk—like threads; stem is 2.75" long. Wrapped in clear plastic, ends of which are glued to album page. Written on page underneath plastic: "Alaska Cotton Field".

D — Black and white image of grassy field filled with whitish Alaska Cotton blossoms. Mountain in background can be seen through branches of trees in field. Printed in white in lower proper right corner: "Alaska Cotton Field / (c)1934 Ordway / 35653". Handwritten caption below photo reads: "A plant found here that when the seed pod bursts it is filled with fluffy, creamy cotton, so it is called, Alaska cotton."

E — Black and white photo, vertically oriented, of document located near center of photo with large white border; document has thin black border printed around it, and photo has another thin black border around edge. "Treasury Warrant" with seal in upper proper right corner of document. Printed in black at bottom of photograph: "Treasury Warrant issued for the Alaska Purchase. Photo by Ordway. 57053a".

F — Black and whie photo, horizontally oriented, of document centered in photo with large white border. Document is entitled "9759 Treasury Warrant / Treasury of the United States" with much handwritten information across it and images in upper proper left corner and proper right edge.
