Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency"). The frame is labeled "West Juneau from Mt Rbts trail 8/23/64" in handwriting. The image shows an aerial view of the Gastineau Channel and Douglas Island beyond it. The Channel and the Juneau waterfront at right occupy the foreground, while Douglas Island extends from the middling area into a shallow background. The mountains on Douglas Island extend across the entirety of the background. At center, the old cantilever Juneau—Douglas Bridge is visible connecting the shores. The settlement of West Juneau, characterized by small structures, is sprawled along the water's edge, the structures clustered thickest around the bridge. The number "13" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
