Title:
Float Plane Hoisted on to A.J. Dock
Year Range from:
1929
Year Range to:
1935
Description:
Black and white photograph of a sea plane (float plane) being hoisted on to a dock. The aircraft is upside down with its pontoons in the air and its wings level with the water. Its tail is in the water. The wings and pontoons are damaged. The hoist lines are attached to the pontoons and extend upward out of the image's view. There are boats with men behind the plane. A wall takes up the proper right side of the image. Partially visible (upside down) text on the side of the plane reads: "AN AIRWAYS OF ALASKA"
The photograph is of an aircraft which crashed. The plane was turned upside down and towed back to the A.J. Dock. It was then hoisted on to the dock.
