Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Nurses Association Float 7/4/55" in handwriting. The image shows a parade float traveling down an unknown street in Juneau. Captured from a diagonal, the left side of the float is visible, traveling toward the camera. Buildings are visible at left and toward the background, along with powerlines crossing the top of the image. The float itself is draped in United States flag buntings. There are two women visible atop the float, one seemingly dressed as a nun, and the other in early American colonial garb. There are also two men, seemingly dressed as Union and Confederate soldiers, respectively. Another float can be seen following at the rear, fashioned from a military truck bed. The number "7" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left.
