Entire photograph has broken chunks of ice that are white and blue with areas of black on top. Rocks are visable on the proper left center. The bottom proper right corner is a side view of one large chunk of ice that is mostly blue. Horizontal photograph.

Artist's note:
Moraine materials lie on the surface of Mendenhall Glacier near its terminus at Mendenhall Lake. This material is composed of dust, dirt gravel and boulders that erodes from the mountainsides above; falls to the glacier and is eventually transported from its origins to the waters of Mendenhall Lake by the downhill movement of this river of ice.
