Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency" and watermark for Perfect Photo, Inc. at bottom right). The frame is labeled "7—14—67 Gold Creek Races" in handwriting. The image shows a vertical view of the Gold Creek cutting through downtown Juneau toward the Federal Building. The creek is walled in by cement with adjoining chain link fences on either side, with trees above at right and small buildings above at left. At right in the background, the Federal Building is visible. In the distant background, there are mountains enshrouded in fog, possibly on Douglas Island. The current in the creek seems swift, and there is something, possibly a tiny boat, traveling along the water in the center background. Above it on a bridge or walkway, there appear to be spectators. The number "14" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
