Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency" and front logo for Perfect Photo, Inc.). The frame is labeled "Gold Mine Tour 7—2—68" in handwriting. The image shows an aerial northward looking view of downtown Juneau from Mount Roberts. In the foreground, there is a thick sloping line of trees, partly obscuring the view of downtown. Downtown lies in the middling area, a significant distance below the position of the image's capture. The only building that can really be discerned is the Federal Building, visible at center. Beyond downtown, the slope of Mount Juneau rises at extreme right. The Gastineau Channel cuts through the image at left, with a sliver of Douglas Island beyond. The number "14" is printed in ink on the frame at the lower right, and the text "JUL 68" is etched on the lower edge, possibly signifying the date of development.
