Scope & Content:
Memorial card printed with black ink on white paper. On the front is a black border surrounding an image and text. The image is one of a Jesus's face and upper neck, he is looking upwards at something and is wearing a crown of thorns. Immediately below the image is writing in German. "H Sch K S 1300" Printed further below that is more text in German, "ECCE HOMO / Vater, nicht mein, sondern / Dein Wille geschehe!"
On the reverse is a black border surround text and a small image of the Cross on the top of the page. Below the image of the Cross is printed text in German, "Zur frommen Erinnerung / im Gebete an meinen lieben / Mann, unseren guten Vater / Herrn Johann Ertl / Bauer von Heimhof / geb. am 3. September 1877 / gest. am 24. April 1960 / nach empfang der hl. Olung" There is a printed black line below this piece of text. Beneath that is more text, "Es trat Tod mit raschen Schritten / in unser triedlich, stilles Haus; / ganz unverhofft aus unserer Mitte / riB ['B' is an esszet] er ein treues Herz heraus / Es ruh'n die fleiBigen ['B' is an esszet] Vaterhande, [the second 'a' carries the umlaut accent] / die treu gesorgt tur ['u' carries an umlaut accent] unser Wohl, die tatig ['a' carries an umlaut accent] waren biz ans Ende, / es ruht ein Herz so liebevoli. / Der Herr geb reichen Lohn Dir druben, ['u' carries an umlaut accent] / so beten weinend Dein Leiben"
