Tourist guide of downtown Juneau from circa 1979. Printed on blue paper with black ink and folded twice to make a three sectioned booklet. The front cover of has an illustration of the Russian Orthodox Church in the upper section along with a compass. The bottom section has an illustration of a ship traveling through water. The word "Juneau" is on the bow of the ship and in the water are the words "Welcomes \ you! M/R". The "M/R" are the artist's initals. Between the two illustrations at center is the text "DOWNTOWN \ JUNEAU \ GIFT SHOP \ GUIDE" inclosed in a circle. The other two pages of the cover has text describing "some truly unique, unusual and interesting gift ideas" including gold, jade, hematite, furs, ivory, totemic art, soapstone, paintings, and books. The inside features a map of downtown Juneau between Egan Drive and 4th Street and between Franklin Street and Willoughby Aveune (though Willoughby and 4th Streets are not labeled). The Governor's Mansion, Capitol Building, Old Russian Church and State Museum are all indicated with illustrations and signs. There are nineteen (19) stores listed on far right and left sides of the page along with their address and the type of items one might find there. They are all indicated on the map with a corresponding number. The "information hut" is indicated with a black square, a public telephone is indicated with an open square, and the Juneau Chamber of Commerce is indicated with a black star.
