Scope & Content:
Horizontally oriented, rectangular piece of paper. Front has a silver background. A white stork with orange legs and beak and grey shaded wings with a naked baby/child sitting on its back extends from the lower proper right corner to the upper proper left corner. In the lower proper left corner is a house with smoke billowing from a chimney surrounded by green vegetation. To the proper right of the stork and along the proper right edge yellow printed text and handwritten text reads: "The Stork brought a Girl to \ Mr. and Mrs. M.S. Sutton \ on Dec. 20/08 at 1:15 \ weight 9 3/4 lbs. \ Name Virginia". The words "Girl", "M.S. Sutton", "Dec. 20/08", "1:15", "9 3/4 lbs" and "Virginia" are handwritten in pencil. Verso has printed text in multiple languages located in the upper proper left corner that extends across the upper edge that reads: "Post card Postkarte Carte postale \ Cartolina Postale — Levelezo Lap — Dopisnice — Breflort \ Briefkaart — Brevkort — Otkpbitoe NNcmo — Tarjeta postal — Cartao postal \ Union postale Universelle". A handwritten note in pencil overlaps the handwritten text along the upper edge. There is a green postage stamp in the upper proper right corner with an image of Benjamin Franklin at its center. There are four(4) postmark stamps located on the right half of the postcard that date it at Seattle, Washington on Dec 22, at Louviers on Dec 27, 1908 and at Louviers on December 30, 1908. The postcard is addressed in the lower proper right corner to "Mrs. H. M. Sutton \ 1201 So. Edith St \ Louvier \ Albuquerque\ Colo \ New Mex". Both "Louvier" and "Colo" in the address section are crossed out. The lines: "Mrs. H. M. Sutton" "Louvier" and "Colo" are handwritten in pencil. The lines "1201 So. Edith St", "Albuquerque" and "New Mex" are handwritten in black ink. In the lower proper left section of the card there is a hand written note in pencil reading: "Dearest Grandma \ mama and \ baby doing well, \ a dear little girl that looks like George. \ Happy N. Year \ to all \ Lovingly Love \ L. E. Sutton".

Notes:
Items are from the estate of Virginia Sutton White. The Sutton Family lived in Juneau between 1915—1920 (approximately). Virginia's father was Marion Sylvester Sutton, the architect of the Juneau Public School finished in 1920. Marion Sylvester Sutton died in 1935. Virginia Sutton White died in 1995, leaving her estate to her step—daughter, Mrs. Kalaas (wife of donor).
